Elle Pirahna: Maggie Coles-Lyster’s titanium track bike
Here at Naked Factory Racing we really like ‘cross, and that’s most of what we talk about. And we talk about it alot. But Sam’s roots are on the boards of a velodrome. So, when Maggie Coles-Lyster, Junior World Champion in the Points race and second in the Omnium, found herself without a bike earlier this year, wheels started turning.
Left, mostly.
Sam and Maggie met at the Vancouver Outdoor Show back in March. Maggie was working her way back into racing after a big crash on the boards at the Six Days of Copenhagen track event, but was still without a track bike. After talking over the weekend, Sam decided to make one.
Now, when Coles-Lyster lines up on the track, it’s on Elle Piranha – her Naked Bicycles titanium track bike.
The nickname is one Maggie earned after an earlier crash in Switzerland a few years ago. She got up, kept racing, and earned the label. As she says of track racing, “We fight like Piranha’s”
The Ti track whip is built out with parts from the Vancouver Jr world champions other sponsors, including Vision, FSA, and ISM, all painted by Sam on Quadra to match the frame.
